The aim of this study was to examine differences in perseverance and passion for long-term goals (GRIT) according to competitive level in racquet sport athletes. A cross-sectional comparative design was used with a sample of 160 athletes (M = 28.3 ± 5.6 years) from tennis, padel, squash, and badminton, recruited from the United States and Europe based on regular participation in federated competition. The GRIT-S scale was used as the assessment instrument. Results showed that athletes competing at a higher competitive level scored significantly higher in overall GRIT and in the subscales of Perseverance of Effort and Consistency of Interest. No significant differences were found according to sex. Overall, findings suggest that competitive level is positively associated with GRIT in racquet sports.
